This role is maternity cover scheduled to start from September 2017 until July 2018. As this role is scheduled to start in September it suits teachers who are looking for a fresh start for the new academic year. Applicants from QTS holders and newly qualified teachers will be accepted and reviewed with equality.
The school is a mixed primary school located in the heart of West London. The children come from all different back grounds and religious beliefs. This diversity is something that the school is extremely proud of.
The class you are required to teach is a year 5 class of 22 children with mixed abilities. As these children will be preparing during the year for end of year exams you will be appointed a permanent teaching assistant for 2 days a week.
The school is located at a short walk from Ealing Broadway station where both central and district lines run as well as an over ground.
The school has received 'outstanding' in its last OfSted report.
The head teacher is committed, supportive and well known in developing the staff professionally within their own career. If the successful applicant is a newly qualified teacher then they will be provided with the support and tools necessary to gain a QTS. You will be entering a very warm and professional environment where your achievements are just as important as the achievements of the children.
The curriculum is rich with creative arts being a permanent part of the curriculum. The school has recently started teaching MFL to children from year 2 on wards twice a week. The teaching assistant is required to work on the same two days as the MFL languages for added support.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is interested in gaining experience within a primary school. Someone who is looking for a challenge in the new school year.
The successful applicant will have a minimum of a year's experience teaching a UK school. It is essential that you have a good understanding of the national curriculum. You will need to have good time management, a good work ethic and the ability to organise creative, motivating and engaging lessons for the children on a daily basis.
ALL applicants must have a valid DBS or the willingness to apply for one. It is also essential to be able to provide proof of a right to work in the UK.
