A* Star Teachers was created and is run by teachers and headteachers. Some of us were originally recruited from overseas and we understand the challenges our teachers face.
Interviewing, profiling and informing our teachers
All of our teachers have a face-to-face interviews where they are professionally profiled. Our overseas teachers will have a well qualified local professional or we send well qualified heads and inspectors overseas to carry out interviews. At interview we ensure our teachers expectations are well informed and we provide teachers with useful written materials. Induction
A* Star Teachers runs a comprehensive programme at the beginning of each term for new teachers. In addition, twilight training is scheduled throughout the year. This focused high quality programme includes key areas such as national literacy, numeracy and curriculum standards, in addition to professionalism and behaviour management.
Support
Our Professional Development Consultant provides support for our teachers at a classroom level, and where required can assist in preparing the teacher to gain UK Qualified Teacher Status. Non-school support includes advice and assistance on accommodation, banking, tax and payroll, healthcare, work permits and, or course, the hectic social life. We offer guidance on cultural familiarisation, social networking, travel and gererally playing hard.

Professional development
We develop and review individual professional development programmes continuously. These take into account feedback from the teachers. Additional in-service training is provided to teachers on top of the normal school professional development courses.
